There's an Official 'Moomins' Game Coming Out and it Sounds Amazing

Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley is due out in 2023.

Who doesn't love the Moomins? In this economy?

In the much-anticipated Moomins puzzle game, Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley, we're going to get the opportunity to navigate the delightful world of Moominvalley through the eyes of the stoic, silent Snufkin. Made by Hyper Games, the developers behind 2020's delightfully dark Monkredd, it's clear that the game is going to be a real treat. The title is due out sometime next year, according to the game's steam page.

The aim of the game is simple: those pesky Hemulen have been clogging up Moominvalley's gorgeous green hills with their pesky private parks. It's up to you, via Snufkin, to return the "harmony" to the beloved valleys before it's too late.

But how will we get out of this mess, I hear you ask? Well, it's quite simple - we'll do it through a mixture of puzzles, music, and with the help of our friends (or, at least, the other inhabitants of Moominvalley. I'm not sure how hot Snufkin is on most people...).

The game's graphics capture the perfect feel and ambiance created by Tove Jansson's original books and illustrations. The 2D illustrations, soft colour palette, and Visual Novel-style mechanics all fit together fantastically to evoke the feeling of first getting lost in a copy of The Tales from Moominvalley. Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley is evidently a labour of love in the hands of devs who fully understand and embrace the cosy vibes of the Moomin-verse.

Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley is coming to PC and Console next year. Add the game to your wishlist on steam here.
